I was approached by a few employees of Automattic to come up with a brand for the 2015 Maine WordCamp. The initial concept was based around the theme of the Maine Lumberjack. I decided to illustrate two lumberjacks sawing at a WordPress branded log. Metaphorically the logo can be representative of building and hacking similar to the process that goes behind theme development.
The requirement for the website was that it had to incorporate the WordPress.org 2015 theme and Google based webfonts. The website was built out by a core member of Automattic. The logo helped to demonstrate how the 2015 theme could be creatively adapted to a designer’s need.
